RC Metro Iloilo's Rotaract Clubs Tree Planting to Bring Hope, Life for Future Generations

By PDRR Elyrose Naorbe and RACMI Dream President Jasper Mosquito

With the aim to preserve our nature for future generations, Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of Metro Iloilo (RACMI), Rotaract Club of PHINMA - University of Iloilo (RAC PHINMA-UI), and Rotaract Club of West Visayas State University (RAC WVSU), all sponsored by the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo (RCMI) gathered at Sitio Paradahan, Barangay Igcocolo, Guimbal, Iloilo for "Gintanom nga kahoy para sa bwas damlag ni Inday kag Nonoy", on August 21, 2022.

Aside from its noble purpose, the project was made extra special because of the presence of RCMI Past President Marc Gaw Te represented the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo.

The environmental concerns from all over the world have affected so many people. Thus, the desire of these Rotaractors to help this world in need continues to blaze. The scorching heat of the sun and the distance of the venue from the assembly area while crossing those two magnificent rivers did not hinder the Rotaractors to plant a tree and save a life. They believe that it is now high time to give back to the world that helped them all throughout. The purpose of this project highlighted the importance of taking care of the environment and continuing to be warriors of the Earth.

It is an undeniable fact that the environment is indeed struggling and it needs us for it to recover. This simple activity is just one of those basic steps to gradually heal the ever suffering environment. Just like what Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco has said, “Our micro efforts will have a macro effect to help save our home.” Truly, this activity is already a milestone and these rotaractors can’t wait for more activities that will benefit the world.
